Cognate with Old Irish <mentioned xml:lang="" target="#cog_sga_ubull"><ref target="#cog_sga_ubull">ubull</ref></mentioned>, Welsh <mentioned xml:lang="" target="#cog_cym_afal"><ref target="#cog_cym_afal">afal</ref></mentioned>, Old Prussian <mentioned xml:lang="" target="#cog_prg_woble"><ref target="#cog_prg_woble">woble</ref></mentioned>, Lithuanian <mentioned xml:lang="" target="#cog_lit_obuolys"><ref target="#cog_lit_obuolys">obuolỹs</ref></mentioned>, and Russian <mentioned xml:lang="" target="#cog_ru_jabloko"><ref target="#cog_ru_jabloko">яблоко</ref></mentioned>.
