Work started in earnest on this project in early fall of 2025 as a retirement project with a dump of Wiktionary's Proto-Germanic data. It took months just to properly organize it and see what I was working with. I began organizing it in MS Word and quickly realized that the 6000+ pages were going to be too unruly to work with. So I began creating a proprietary application with a database back end and graphical front end that made it easy to manage the 5300+ dictionary headwords and all of their various connections. I began working through the alphabet, researching the etymologies of every single entry with the most up-to-date scholarly research that I could find. I also updated every single IPA pronunciation and created the very first (as far as I know) Proto-Germanic TTS to create pronunciations of every single headword. With the click of a mouse, you can hear the spoken word for the first time in millennia!

It will likely take another 2-3 years to complete the entire update, but you can follow up my progress, and find out some other fun and interesting facts on the Dashboard page.
